A Feeling of Gratitude

I feel full of gratitude today. I am grateful for the knowledge that there is purpose and reason for this life. I am comforted by the the Lord's blessings in my life. I went to sleep last night, feeling a bit empty in spirit, but today, after a worship service, and good friends, I feel uplifted. Those empty places in my heart were filled through the Lord. I am grateful for the friends I have in my life both near and far, for my family and all those people that make a difference in my life. I am grateful to feel at peace with my current situation. While I am not where I planned to be, I am where I am supposed to be. It is comforting to know that "all is well." Prayer brings peace and assurance to my battered soul. I am thankful for the workings of the Spirit and for a sure conviction in the gospel of Jesus Christ. There is a God- and He knows each of us personally and seeks to bless us.

I have been reading in the Old Testament. It is my goal to finish reading the entire bible.

In the book of Joel, we are taught the following lessons that are of great comfort to me:

Joel 2: 13
And rend your heart, and not your garments, and turn unto the Lord your God: for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness and repenteth him of the evil."

Joel 2:21
Fear not, O land; be glad and rejoice, for the Lord will do great things.

V. 22 "Be not afraid."

V. 23: "Be glad then."

V. 27: And ye shall know that I am in the midst of Israel, and that I am the Lord your God, and none else: and my people shall never be ashamed.

V. 32: And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be delivered.

Joel 3:10.... Let the weak say, I am strong.

V. 16: The Lord shall be the hope of his people

V. 17: So shall ye know that I am the Lord your God dwelling in Zion.
